Spiritual Life of the School

St Simon Stock is a Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Southwark. We are dedicated to St Simon Stock and are an Associate Lasallian School  (St John Baptiste de La Salle is the patron Saint of teachers).

We offer our students and staff many opportunities to pray and have moments of quiet to reflect n their life and the world around them. Students in years 7-10 have a fortnightly reflection in the chapel with our school chaplain where they can reflect on their own situations and also think about and act on global issues. We regularly run year group day retreats to Aylesford Priory and also residential retreats to St Cassian’s Centre in Kintbury for groups of students in years 10-13. Twice a week we hold form prayer services when students can gather in their form groups for a short service of word and prayer lead by some of our local clergy. Along with this all of our lessons start and end with a prayer led by the teacher or one of the students. At the end of the day we join together as a school with a closing prayer read over the tannoy.
